Description
The Rope-Stitched Brim
A cowboy hat cut in a washed-denim finish, with a wide brim that curves gently at the sides and a tall crown set with a clean centre pinch. The wash gives the surface a soft, pale, lived-in look that only settles further the more it is worn. Rope-style topstitching runs around the brim edge, and an adjustable chin cord holds it steady when the wind picks up. It reads relaxed and worn-in, not stiff or new.
Kept Low-Key
Made for British summer days, garden gatherings and slow weekends out of town, it sits happily with linen, soft cottons and an easy shirt. The faded blue keeps it low-key, leaning casual rather than dressed-up. One western piece is plenty, with no need to lean into the whole look. Kept among everyday clothes, it stays a hat you actually reach for.
Head sizing
This hat is one size, shaped to fit head measurements of roughly 56 to 58 cm, with an adjustable chinstrap cord that holds it steady on breezier days.
To measure your head:
- A soft measuring tape is ideal. A length of string measured against a ruler also works.
- Sit the tape just above your ears and across the middle of your forehead, where the hat will rest.
- Hold it snug, not tight, and read the measurement in centimetres.
If your measurement sits a little above 58 cm, the cord lets you ease the fit. If it falls well below 56 cm, a smaller style may suit you better.
Materials & care
A washed denim finish. Manufactured overseas.
To keep it looking its best:
- Brush gently with a soft brush to lift dust.
- Keep it dry. If it is caught in a shower, reshape the brim by hand and leave it to air-dry away from direct heat.
- Reshape the brim and crown by hand whenever needed.
- Rest it on its crown to store, out of prolonged sunlight.

Frequently asked questions
Will a cowboy hat suit me?
Most likely, yes. It is a question of shape rather than a certain kind of person. As a rule, a wider brim balances a fuller face or broader shoulders, while a narrower brim suits finer features. Try one level on the brow first, then tipped back a touch, and look at it from the side as well as the front.
How do I wear one without it looking like fancy dress?
Keep everything else quiet. One Western piece is plenty, so let the hat lead and pair it with everyday clothes like linen, denim or a plain knit. Skip the matching boots and belt, which tip the look into costume. Worn as an ordinary hat, with the rest of your wardrobe understated, it reads as considered.
Which shape should I choose?
This one is about the cut of the crown and brim, not your head measurement (for that, see the Head sizing panel above). Our cowboy hats come in a few crown shapes: a cattleman, creased down the centre with a dip each side; a gambler, with a rounder, oval crown; and a teardrop, pinched once at the front. A wider brim broadens the line and a taller crown adds height, so balance the hat against your face and frame.
Where can I wear a cowboy hat in the UK?
Further than you might think. Our cowboy hats earn their place at summer festivals, garden parties, country weekends and holidays in the sun, anywhere relaxed and outdoors. The wide brim brings a little welcome shade on bright days. Think of it as a warm-weather hat for the spring to early-autumn stretch of the British year, rather than formal or wet-weather wear.
How do I choose between the styles in the collection?
Start with where you will wear it and how dressed-up you need to be, then let colour and feel decide. As a guide, the open weave feels light and summery for warm days; felt feels more structured and carries into cooler, dressier days. Natural and cream tones are the easiest to pair, while a stronger colour makes more of a statement.
Do cowboy hats suit men and women?
Both, easily. A cowboy hat is unisex by nature, and ours are for anyone drawn to the shape. The difference tends to be in the styling rather than the hat itself: the same piece reads differently with tailoring, with denim, or with a summer dress. Pick the one you like, and let the rest of your outfit set the tone.
New to hats? Is a cowboy hat a good place to start?
It can be a very good one. A cowboy hat has enough shape to feel deliberate, yet it is easy to wear with everyday clothes, so it rarely feels like too much. Begin by wearing it on relaxed days, outdoors or away for the weekend, until it feels like yours. If you are unsure, keep the colour natural and the rest of your outfit plain, and let the hat do the work.
